NIT Trichy E cell launches Ventura10

Ventura '10 is all geared up to follow the success earned by its '09 predecessor. It is India's largest international business plan competition organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi (NIT-T) and promises to be the stepping stone for budding entrepreneurs all over the world on their path to success.

Ventura '09 celebrated and encouraged the ideas, innovation, business sense, entrepreneural spirit and determination of students from India and around the world. The contest attracted participation of 244 students from  120 institutuions across 15 nations.

Ventura '10 has returned with prize money of INR 4 Lakhs and incubation support worth INR 1 Crore, which is higher than last year. Its recieves support from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the country's first campus incubator, TREC-STEP ( Tiruchi Regional Engineering College-Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park).

Teams are intensely monitored and shortlisted by the E-Cell Mentor Network, a group of CEOs, leading entrepreneurs and venture promotersfrom all across the globe. After this mentoring period, teams are to submit their final business plans and the deserving finalists are chosen to present their business plans before the jury panel.

Winners are determined on the basis of their technical and market innovation, financial stability of the proposal, and competance. The winning team of Ventura '09 was 'CardioCure' from GeorgiaTech, USA, who are in talks with ICICI Knowledge Park, Hyderabad, to put up their venture soon.

Ventura '10 is associated with premier incubators from India and abroad. It also provides exclusive mentoring through its Mentor Network consisting of 50 pathbreaking entrepreneurs and venture promoters. There will be Cognizance awards as well for the socially and environmentally relevant entries, and special recognition for Technical innovations.
