Investiture ceremony of Student Council of MANIT 2009-2010 organized

On 13th September 2009, the investiture ceremony of the Student Council of MANIT 2009-2010 was organized at the MANIT campus from 4pm-5pm. This was a very special event since it is not only coinciding with the Golden Jubilee of the Institute's Foundation Day but also because last year the Student Council couldn't formally be inducted.

Honorable Chief Justice (High Court of Madhya Pradesh) Shri A.K. Patnaik graced the ceremony with his esteemed presence as the Chief Guest.

Shri A.N. Singh (Chairman Board of Governors, MANIT-Bhopal) presided over the proceedings.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamps, which was followed by a short introduction speech by Dr. V.K. Khare (Dean Student Welfare). Subsequently Dr. R.P. Singh (Director, MANIT-Bhopal) gave a welcome address. This was followed by the oath taking by the Student Council which included the following students:

•    Mr. Tridoshanjay Jain (Technical Secretary)
•    Mr. Kapil Bharti (Cultural Secretary)
•    Mr. Utkarsh Pandey (Literary Secretary)
•    Mr. Abhishek Singh (Sports Secretary)
•    Mr. Sheikh Kasim (Event Secretary)
•    Mr. Apoorv Swarup (Council Media Incharge)
•    Mr. Prajwal Baral (Executive Member N.R.I.)
•    Mr. Barun Kumar (Executive Member P.G.)

Apart from the Student Council members the Class Representatives of various branches and years also took the oath simultaneously. The annual College Magazine 'Excelsior' was also unveiled by the Chief Guest subsequently. The Student Council President Mr. Ankit Pansari addressed the gathering which was followed by a short address by Shri A.N. Singh & Shri Patnaik. The events were concluded by a brilliant dance performance by the members of the 'Roobaroo' cultural society of the college. The dignitaries and guests proceeded for High Tea after the aforementioned proceedings.
