Guest Lecture at Fortune Institute of International Business Submitted By :- Prof. Parul Singh Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Fortune Institute of International Business conducts a Seminar Course on Impact of ERP technology on Business Competitiveness As part of industry academia interactions series, an engrossing talk was delivered on 28th July 2008 at Fortune institute of International Business, New Delhi by Mr. Sanjay Agarwala CEO, Eastern Software Systems Ltd., an Indian Software company with market in 12 countries. He spoke to the gathering on the 'Impact of ERP technology on Business Competitiveness'. Mr. Sanjay Agarwala holds a Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He started his career with Escorts Limited. He had the distinction of being the youngest manager in CMC and was Regional Marketing Manager for North. In 1990 he co-founded Eastern Software Systems of which he is currently the C.E.O. Mr. Agarwala, set the keynote talk by emphasizing on business excellence and how to look at businesses from quality perspective. He laid stress on ERP implementation requirements on cost cutting and time efficiency. Time factor in this era of globalization is the critical asset for any organization as it minimizes the extent of chaos in disorganization within a business enterprise. He shared his experience on how Kenyan organizations using the 'solitaire game' increased their familiarity with computers. He shared practical tips on running an organization profitably as well. Tarshant and Deepesh, students of the second year PGDM programme were full of appreciation about the seminar.
