Function to honor Ambedkar held at Kurukshetra Varsity

Haryana: Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana, recently told people to walk on the path carved out by Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar for achieving success in education and talked about the importance of education in the creation of a harmonious society that is free from casteism, communalism and inequities.

He spoke at a function that was organized by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Welfare Society at Kurukshetra University to celebrate the 119th birth anniversary of Ambedkar and said that only by spreading education can we realize the dream of achieving a society that is completely devoid of religious conflicts, castes and classes, which was shared by Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Dayanand and Dr. Ambedkar.

"Education is also very important and necessary to survive in today's world which is highly competitive," he said, while praising the Union government, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for making the move to provide education to everybody.

Hooda also announced to give a grant of Rs. 11 lakh to the Sant Ravidas Bhawan, which he visited, and Rs. 5 lakh to a hostel he inaugurated in Fatehpur which is run by Matribhumi Sewa Mission.
