Allahabad: Ghazal queen Peenaz Masani is thrilled and definitely with a good reason!!
She will enthrall the eight Nobel Laureates, their spouses, about 10 international scientists of renown and hundreds of Indian post-graduate and under-graduate students and technocrats at the Nobel Laureates' Science Conclave 2008 at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A).
Speaking to this journalist at the IIIT-Allahabad, the gorgeous and vivacious Peenaz said that she was thrilled to visit Allahabad.
"I have come to Allahabad after 15 years. I had come here a long time ago for an event during the Dussehra festival. I am thrilled to be amongst such an august gathering of Nobel Laureates and in the land of the sangam."
Peenaz said she has been practicing for quite a few days for this event. "It's a very prestigious event and an honour for India that 8 Nobel Laureates have come here to interact with our students and scientists in spite of the terror attack in Mumbai and the resulting apprehension in the international for a concerning travel to India."
Peenaz rendered a special performance of ghazals yesterday (17th December 2008) during the entertainment programme after the lectures and interaction sessions are over.
Last evening Hema Malini kept the Nobel Laureates and the entire 2000-strong audience glued to their seats and spellbound for more than an hour with her mind-blowing performance.
For the first time in Asia, the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) is hosting the biggest Asian gathering of international Nobel Laureates at the Nobel Laureates Conclave, IIIT, Allahabad from December 15 to 21st, 2008.
The Nobel Laureates Conclave is part of the Science Conclave 2008 - a week-long mega symposium, exhibition and lecture series on science and technology. More than 2000 delegates including students, scientists from India and all over the world are attending this event.
