| Cardiac Cath. Lab to be set up at AMU August 06, 2010 Aligarh: A 'Cardiac Catheterization Lab' will be established in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to provide meaningful facilities to the heart patients. This assurance has been given by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to the Director of Center of Cardiology, JNMC and renowned Cardiologist M.U. Rabbani during a meeting at his residence in Delhi. Prof. Rabbani was accompanied with AMU Court Member Vivek Bansal and Prof. S C Sharma. M.U. Rabbani, also the Convener of the Committee for Cardiac Catheterization Lab constituted by AMU Vice Chancellor P K Abdul Azis, requested Ghulam Nabi Azad to initiate proceedings for the facilities of Angiography and By-pass Surgery so that heart patients of Aligarh and nearby districts may get suitable treatment. The Union Health Minister assured that the Cardiac Catheterization Lab will be established in JNMC under the Prime Minister's Health Scheme. Calling his meeting with Ghulam Nabi Azad a success, M.U. Rabbani informed that the Dean of Medicine Faculty S. Abrar Hasan and the Chief Medical Superintendent of Medical College M. Ashraf Malik were also involved in tireless efforts for establishing the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at JNMC. |
