AMU organizes workshop on Indian art
Aligarh: The Department of Fine Arts, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a workshop "Artist in Residency" in collaboration with the Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow.

Prof. Jai Zharotia an eminent artist, whose contribution to Indian art is remarkable, was invited to be the chief guest of the occasion.

The workshop began with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Dr. Zeba Hasan, Chairman, Department of Fine Arts and Convener of the workshop introduced the guests.

Prof. Maria Bilqees, Dean Faculty of Arts while delivering the inaugural speech, admired the work and contribution of Professor Zharotia.

Prof. Parvez Mustajab, Controller of Examination and Prof. Seema Javed, former Chairman, Department of Fine Art was also present.

The first session of the workshop started with a slide presentation of the art work of Prof. Zharotia after which he addressed the students by responding to their questions.

A detailed interactive session shall be held on April 6, 2010, marked for the valediction of the workshop, which will be followed by an exhibition of art specimen produced by the students during the workshop.
