'New campus should reflect our architectural ethos' - AMU VC
Aligarh: "The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Malappuram campus should reflect the exterior architectural ethos of AMU," said AMU Vice Chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis, while addressing a meeting with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Calicut Central Division officials.

"The building in the new centre should blend with greenfield, energy saving and modern components of the highest global order," he said.

He further added that the University is waiting for the detailed project report (DPR) to be submitted by Educational Consultants India Ltd. (EdCIL) for planning the next step of action.

He said that, "By July next year, the university will be needing necessary temporary facilities to move MBA and BALLB programmes into the Malappuram center's campus."

Urging CPWD officials to submit a detailed proposal taking a holistic view of the Malappuram Center's campus design, the Vice Chancellor said that "The detailed building plan and the facilities will be provided, indicating the location of Academic Blocks, Medical, Engineering and Women's Colleges, hostels, staff apartments, shopping and sports complexes etc."

Mr. N.N.S.S. Rao, Superintendent Engineer of CPWD, gave a brief insight into the work of CPWD Calicut Division and assured the University that the work will be implemented with utmost care and quality, and the timeline will also be maintained.

Mr. K. V. Peter, Executive Engineer of CPWD's Calicut Central Division also participated in the discussion along with AMU Registrar V. K. Abdul Jaleel, Finance Officer Yasmin Jalal, Controller of Examination Pervez Mustajab, OSD (Development) Akhtar Haseeb, JNMC Principal Ekram Husain among others.
