Tiruchi Anna University to promote web-based education

TIRUCHI: Tiruchi Anna University will promote information technology-assisted education for the students. This was informed by University's Vice-Chancellor V. Ramachandran on assuming charge on Friday while talking to media persons.

Mr. Ramachandran also informed that teachers of the affiliated colleges would be initiated into Web-based education. He further told that in the span of two years the teachers in affiliated colleges need to be a post-graduate instead of bachelor's in the stream.

Mr. Ramachandran also said that research activities would get a boost after the creation of a suitable infrastructure in the university. He also disclosed the university's plan of setting up of an incubation centre, which would provide space for IT companies, including Infosys, Wipro, and Sify, to develop communication competencies and soft skills of students.
