HRD Ministry goes online to stop ragging

June 20, 2009

New Delhi: In a bid to check ragging on campus and hostels, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has setup toll free help-lines and email ID's where students can file in their complaints.

HRD Minister, Mr. Kapil Sibal, will launch the 24x7 Toll Free Anti-Ragging Helpline Number - 1800-180-5522, on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Minister of State for HRD, D. Purandeswari.

With the new facility, students can file their complaints by calling the help line number or by sending an email at helpline@antiragging.net.

All registered complaints will be acknowledged by giving unique number to the caller and the complaint will be forwarded for action.

The status of action or complaint can be tracked with the help of the unique number received as acknowledgement.

Once proper action has been taken on the complaint, a confirmation call / mail will be sent to the student stating the closing of the complaint.
