NCERT to introduce new textbooks for Class V, VIII

New Delhi: Students of class V and VIII can look forward to new NCERT textbooks from this academic session. The new text books would be as per the guidelines issued by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).

The NCF earlier gave guidelines to NCERT to arrange textbooks which are aimed at connecting real life knowledge to classroom teaching and give due importance to enhance the learning abilities of the students.

Earlier, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) had already introduced textbooks for the other classes in two phases in the year 2006 and 2007 respectively. In the third phase, the NCERT brought out the books for two classes on internet in E-format to enable students get the study materials without much hassle.

Every year, keeping into account the ever-increasing shortage of books in the market, the NCERT has now regularly been posting E-version of books online. IANS
