Madurai: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will soon come up with a 'model study centre' for the entire Madurai region from the last week of February.

Covering 17 districts in the state the model centre is mulled to be for the entire Madurai region directly managed by the varsity.

The model study centre in Madurai will also organise corporate training programme besides working out the academic schedule for various courses offered by IGNOU.

The Madurai region covers all southern districts, besides other places like the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur.
