Chennai: Launching an e-learning portal here on Monday and turning a management mentor, Krishnamachari Srikkanth - the tormentor of bowlers during his cricket days - plans to launch portals for cricket coaching, maths and science too.

"The cricket coaching portal will be an additional tool for the players in addition to playing and practicing the game on field," Srikkanth, founder and director, Sun Online Learning India Pvt. Ltd. told the sources.

Speaking about the company's new initiative, www.careerstrokes.com, an e-learning portal he said, "This is targeted at the youth in the age bracket 16-25 enabling them to learn and sharpen their soft skills."

"Everybody knows the game of cricket in India. And guiding the youth in their career using the cricket language will be easy," he remarked.

Explaining the point further, Ram Charan, a professional trainer associated with the new portal said, "For instance the concept of product life cycle - market introduction, growth, maturity and saturation and decline- could be easily explained with the various formats of cricket."

"If the Indian Premier League (IPL) is in the introductory/growth stage, the One Day game has reached the maturity level while Test cricket has touched the saturation stage," he said.

According to Srikkanth, the twelve module programme comprising of goal setting, leadership skills, stress management and others is priced at Rs.990 and is valid for 90 days from the date of enrolment.

He said the lectures will be streamed live on the web and will be archived for future retrieval by the subscribers.

According to a company official, Srikkanth's belief in numerology and the number 9 played a major role in fixing the price.

The firm is seeking around one lakh subscribers by March 31 and the target is to enroll around 25,000 subscribers per month. Corporates and universities will also be approached in this aim. IANS
