Education Act will accelerate growth - Tamil Nadu official
Coimbatore: While praising the compulsory education act at the college day of AJK College of Arts and Science which aims to strengthen the education system in the country by increasing the school enrolment ratio of children, the secretary of revenue department, government of Tamil Nadu, K. Dhanavel said that he welcomes the changes brought forward in the educational field.

"Research was a category which never got its due in the country. With nobody interested to take up the subject for further studies, the stress now added onto it due to inter-university interaction and collaboration with Western universities was a refreshing welcome," he said.

Even though the focus of the country was in expanding the Information Technology genre but the agriculture industry too lacks the growth. "Issues in the agriculture industry too needs to be addressed immediately."

Mr. Dhanavel said that, "Western countries have exposed their students to the field of research and technology right from the undergraduate level. This is what I aspire for India to follow. India occupies seventh position in space research and sixth in atomic research; it should accelerate its growth process to reach the desired goal."
