Anna University to offer part-time B.E.

Tiruchi: Here is good news for Diploma holders with a year of work experience. Tiruchi Anna University is going to start part-time B.E. programmes in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and B.Tech in Information Technology, from the coming academic year.

The three-and-a-half-year program with seven semesters is meant for diploma-holders with a minimum of a year's work experience, according to V. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor. The university expects the part-time programmes will impart thrust to the technical education in the region. The university will conduct a rigid screening process to ensure merit-based admissions. The intake will be 60 for each programme, said Dr. Ramachandran.
