All universities in India to be e-linked

Coimbatore: Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja, on Saturday announced that in three years all the universities will become Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) enabled through an exclusive optic fibre network while inaugurating the facility at the Avinashilingam University for Women.
As a part of the National Knowledge Network, they will all be e-linked at a cost of Rs.6,000 crore.
Speaking at a function he said every university, be it medical, agricultural, arts and science, or engineering, would be a part of the network.
Chancellor of the university T.K. Shanmuganandam, said that gradually, the paper-pencil mode of the examination system would be replaced by online. |
