Semester, Grading system in Rajasthan University by 2010
Jaipur: Following the footsteps of the Delhi University (DU), now the University of Rajasthan too plans to implement the semester and grading system from the next academic session.

The university has prepared a blue print for implementing the scheme that will possibly get a nod in the meeting to be held under its Vice Chancellor, Furkan Kamar next month.

The plan is first proposed to cover those subjects that are not being taught in the university-recognized colleges and then be applied to Undergraduate and PG level courses.

This step will improve the academic scenario. About 3.25 lakh students study in various colleges recognized by the university out of which 28 thousand are regular and 1.75 thousand are private.

Semester system will help to improve the results and inspire the students to attend classes.

Grading system will be started in the Centre for Converging Technologies as well as in M.B.A. and M.C.A on an experimental basis. These subjects already have semester system incorporated in their schedule and are not taught in university’s recognized colleges.
