Swine Flu withholds classes for a week at Punjab College

Chandigarh (Punjab): Punjab Engineering College (PEC) suspended classes until November 19, 2009 in lieu of the outbreak of swine flu in the premises. Nine persons, including five of its students tested positive for the epidemic recently.
The Union Territory's nodal officer for swine flu, H. C. Gera, said that, "After the test results came out to be positive, the college director was immediately asked to shut down the college for a week."

Precautionary measures were announced in the hostel and strict instructions were given to the wardens and dean of students' welfare to adhere to them.
