Chandigarh: The Punjab government here on Tuesday announced that the services of nearly 14,000 contract teachers would be regularized.

The Punjab cabinet, which met here on Tuesday, gave its approval for the regularization of services of the 9,998 teaching fellows and 4,000 education service providers recruited on contract basis by the department of school education.

The services of these teachers will be regularized with effect from April 1, 2011, a state government spokesman said. IANS
