ICMR to conduct workshop on Protein Structure Prediction

Lucknow: A two-day workshop on "Protein Structure Prediction" will be conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) from December 19, 2008.

The workshop will be conducted at the Biomedical Informatics Centre, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) Lucknow.

The training course will be useful for professionals and students working in areas of biotechnology, biomedicine, biological sciences and allied sciences.

20 participants will be accepted for this programme on a first-come, first-served basis.

The two-day workshop course will enable the participants to learn about applications of experimental methods like X-Ray Crystallography and NMR Spectroscopy for protein structure determination, Computational method for theoretical protein structure prediction, Protein structure validation and visualization tools.

The course will include lectures and discussions on X-Ray Crystallography, NMR Spectroscopy, Homology Modelling, Protein structure validation tools and Protein structure visualization tools.
