New Delhi: The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) today honored Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, with the 'Prof. Ravi. J. Mathai Award' for being an elite contributor to management education and one of the best entrepreneurs in the country.
The award was by presented by Prof. Uday Salunkhe, Director of Welingkar Institute of Management during the 20th AIMS Annual Management Convention.
While accepting the award, Kumar Mangalam Birla said, "Receiving an award by the name of Prof. Ravi. J. Mathai is the real honor and I am obliged with it. I would like to thank AIMS for this award."
Under the president ship of Prof. Uday Salunkhe, this year's annual convention was organized from 27th to 29th August.
On this occasion, AIMS announced several awards including the "Ravi J. Mathai Award" for exemplary contribution to management education, "Ramaswamy P. Aiyer Best Young Teacher Award", "Best Case Study Presentation Award", "ICFAI Best Teacher Award", "J.L. Batra Best Teacher Award", and "Best Student Paper Award".
"Ramaswamy P. Aiyer Best Young Teacher Award" was received by "Prof. Amar K.J.R. Nayak (Gold)" and "Prof. Geetha Heggde (Silver)", "Best Case Study Presentation Award" was received by "J. Ramachandran & Shubha Patwardhan (Gold)" and "Prof. Amar K.J.R. Nayak (Silver)", "Best Student Paper Award" was received by "Ms Preeti S (Gold)" and "Ms Sukruti Prasad (Silver)" and the "ICFAI Best Teacher Award" was received by "Dr. Sahalaj Kaviraj".
The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) is the second largest network of about 400 management schools in the world including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Xavier institutes, Indian School of Business (ISB), Welingkar Institute of Management, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), Management Development Institute (MDI), S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) and management departments of top universities.
