Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution at Amity Law School

Noida: A two-day Annual National Seminar on "Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the Era of Globalization" will be organized by Amity Law School (ALS) on August 28-29, 2008.

The seminar will be inaugurated on August 28 at 10:00 am at F-2 Block Auditorium, Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida.

The seminar will evaluate the existing law and explore new areas where ADR can be applied.

Justice R.C. Lahoti, Former Chief Justice of India; Justice V.A. Mohta, Former Chief Justice of Orissa High Court and Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, Former Secretary General of Lok Sabha will inaugurate the seminar.

The seminar will be structured in various sessions including Compulsory mediation in matrimonial disputes; Limitation on judicial review of arbitration awards; Application of ADR in the field of professional negligence; Efficacy of arbitral proceedings; Domain name disputes and cyber squatting; international Conventions and their application of ADR in India.

An essay competition, organised during the seminar by ALS, will be judged by renowned members from judiciary, politicians, senior lawyers and academicians including Prof. S.C. Nirvani, Former Executive Director, Indian Council of Arbitration and Mr. Arun Jaitley, Former Union Law Minister & Sr. Adv. Supreme Court.
