First-ever common Law test on May 11

New Delhi: The seven prestigious national law universities of the country are all geared up to open admissions on the basis of the first-ever common Law admission test at the national level.

The test will be conducted across the country on May 11 later this year. The newly-formulated test would allow students two hours time and would consist of objective-type questions.

This was decided by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in a meeting of the university vice-chancellors on Thursday.

The test will be conducted at all the seven national law schools situated in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Raipur, Bhopal, Gandhinagar and Jodhpur, besides centers in cities including Delhi, Chennai, Cochin, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Shillong, Jammu, Guwahati, Patna and Jaipur.

Students would be able to browse through the combined brochure containing information about these law universities from January 25th at: www.clat.ac.in.
