Thrissur (Kerala): The Kerala University of Medical and Allied Sciences, proposed by the State Government will commence its academic activities from 2010-2011.

It was announced by P.K. Sreemathy, Health Minister, Kerala , after the inauguration of the project office of the proposed university on the Thrissur Government Medical College Hospital campus at Mlankunnathukavu.

Various medical disciplines like Modern Medicine, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani and allied subjects will be taught at the proposed university. All the departments will be developed as centres of excellence.

The university will be set up on about 75 acres on the Thrissur Government Medical College campus.
