Thiruvananthapuram: Protesting against the amendments introduced by the State Municipal Building Rules, the Graduates' Association of Civil Engineers (Kerala) has termed it as "instinctive and illogical."

"The amendments," said the association, "have been introduced without gauging the unprecedented growth in the construction sector and factors specific to the State."

It also demanded the withdrawal of the increase in building permit fee up to three times that of the current rate.
