Kerala announces SSLC results

Thiruvananthapuram: M.A. Baby, Education Minister, State Government of Kerala yesterday announced the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination for 2008-09.

Out of total students appeared for SSLC exam 91.92 pc has been declared pass by the board. However, a marginal decline of 0.17 pc has also been registered in this years' result.

7,073 students have been given A+ grade for all the 10 subjects. A total of 24,600 students secured A and 54,992 students received B+ grades.

The highest number of student's secured A+ grade hails from Thrissur. While Kannur surfaced top with the highest pass percentage at 96.83, the lowest was recorded in Palakkad, 84.02 per cent.

As many as 703 schools secured 100 per cent results. The results of around 30 students had been withheld due to technical reasons such as error in registration number on the answer sheet.

"We will announce the withheld results at the earliest possible," said M.A. Baby.

Students will be given hologram embossed SSLC certificates, complete with photographs of the candidates before May 18.

Candidates who failed to clear the examination can appear for the Save-a-Year examination scheduled to be held from May 19 to May 23.
