Thiruvananthapuram: A 15-member Italian delegation from the University of Gastronomic Sciences [UNiSG], an academic institution founded by the 'Slow Food' movement, will visit Kerala on March 21, the organizers said in a statement on March 19.

The 'Slow Food' movement is against the fast food culture and promotes traditional food items of the respective countries.

The delegation is made up of two professors and 13 post-graduate students.

The university is at the forefront of the slow food movement in Europe, the press release said.

The agency looking after the delegation said they will visit the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) here.

CISSA is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) of scientists and citizens.

The UNiSG is an international research and training centre, working to renew farming methods, protect biodiversity and maintain an organic relationship between gastronomy and agricultural science.

Slow Food movement is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1989. IANS
