Raichur: "The District Science Centre in Karnataka is soon to be upgraded to a Regional Science Centre to benefit school children," announced Anand Asnotikar, Minister for Fisheries, Science and Technology and the district in-charge.

He also said that the centre in Raichur would be the first of its kind in the State and would be set up on a 50 acre land on the outskirts of Raichur.

"The centre is equipped with enough facilities for it to be upgraded. We would try to make this centre into a model as this would help students in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region to improve their knowledge of science and technology," he said.

The Minister also said the Raichur Zilla Panchayat had already transferred around 10 acres of land to the centre apart from the 50 acres of land available around the district centre.

He added that he would propose to the Chief Minister to transfer the remainder of the land as well.
