IGNOU revolutionizes Ghulam Nabi Azad's village

Bhalessa (Jammu & Kashmir): Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), a leader in distance education in the country, has achieved the distinction of democratizing higher education in remote and far-flung areas of Jammu & Kashmir.

IGNOU set up a special study centre at the mother village of great Indian Nationalist Ghulam Nabi Azad at Bhalessa.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, coordinator of the study centre, Mr. Sedaketa Ali Malik, said, "The centre has galvanized the local youth and masses. Their cooperation is evident from the number of admissions here."

The programmes offered at the special study centre include BPP, BA, B.Com., BTS, DTS, CTS, CFN, CIG and CIC.

Situated at 300 kms away from Jammu, the summer capital of the state, the area is full of awe aspiring mountains and populace living below the poverty line.
