Get into the Mood, with the 'baap' of all college fests

Mumbai: 60,000 students, 500 colleges, over 120 events, 4 days, 4 nights, 100 hours of Mayhem!! This is what describes Mood Indigo 2008 (MI'08) - the annual cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B).

While the institute celebrates its golden jubilee year of foundation, Mood Indigo '08 promises to be the cherry on the pie.

Mood Indigo, or Mood-I, as it is fondly called, will be organized from 20th December to 23rd December, 2008.

For most of the students coming from places as far as Delhi and Bihar, the festival provides an unparalleled platform to display their talent. No college in the country has a festival of this impressive style.

Each year the sprawling campus of IIT Bombay hosts a plethora of competitions, workshops, live performances and wacky fun events. Mood Indigo exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and competition, of people coming together with one common goal and creating something spectacular.

Mood Indigo sets a stage for the best in the country to showcase their talents in the finest competitions witnessed by thousands of spectators and renowned judges, to bag the biggest prizes ever seen.

Spanning genres from Dance, Music and Dramatics, to Literary Arts, Fine Arts and Speaking, competitions at Mood Indigo have it all.

Besides that, Mood Indigo also gives its participants an opportunity to acquire some of the most interesting skills by conducting various workshops like martial arts, 3D photography, hot air ballooning, ballroom dance, hypnotism and even chocolate making.

'Horizons' brings you not just this but also 'Adaa' - the culture show, exhibitions and demos like bike stunts and sand sculptures and 'Afternites' - proshows from all over the world.

For the fun loving kind, 'Informals' has its own set of wild events like MI's Most Wanted, Aquagames, Adventure zone, Couple games, One-minute games, the Maze and more. For you to relax or kill any rare free time, Mood Indigo presents 'Grind' - the poolside party, 'Ka Ching' - the Casino and the Lounge.

'Pronites' at Mood Indigo have seen renowned artists like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiya, Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhaas, Asha Bhosale, Shaan, KK, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Kailash Kher, Indian Ocean, Euphoria and Parikrama mesmerize a 15,000 strong crowd in Open Air Theatre.

The presumed turnout of people and celebrities is also expected to reach its peak in the Mood-I history.

The grandeur of the event can be envisioned through the fact that the preparations began almost 9 months before the actual event. No stone has been left unturned to ensure a memorable outing for visitors and the esteemed personalities who visit Mood-I.

The quality and quantity of effort put behind Mood-I justifies its title, "The Baap of all College Festivals".
