Manali: School students in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district have been praying daily for the health of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who has not been keeping well for long now.

The 84-year-old leader was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi last month after he complained of giddiness and drowsiness. Also, he was hospitalised in Feburary this year.

Vajpayee visited the Government High School three years ago in picturesque Prini village of the Kullu valley.

"Our students are daily praying for health and long life of Vajpayeeji during the morning-prayer sessions," school's acting headmistress Harshna Behl told sources.

"We are still remembering the day when Vajpayee visited the school and planted a sapling of deodar three years ago," she added.

Namita, a class VIII student, said: "I vividly remember the day he visited the school. He mingled freely with students to catch up with their vision, and their hopes and aspirations. I will never forget that occasion in my life.

"Sadly, he is not fine... we are praying for his long, long life and good health so that he can come here again to bless us." IANS
