Chandigarh: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is going to start a new regional centre in Haryana to serve the educational needs of students of Chandigarh and adjacent districts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Headquarter of the centre will be set up in Chandigarh. Currently the regional centre of Haryana is located at Karnal covers the entire state except Faridabad and Gurgaon.

The regional centre in Haryana will be operational from July 1.
