Kamat said that the new education policy will envisage bringing much needed changes in the education system with emphasis on quality education right from the primary level.

"The Government doesn't want any political interference in the education field", he asserted.

"The Government's priority is to promote the education system in Goa. A total of hundred schools, which are in dilapidated condition, will be identified and would be reconstructed by the GSIDC", Kamat added.

He also stressed on the development of rural areas at par with urban areas and hastened to add that steps have already been taken to give a new look to Valpoi, as various projects are proposed to be constructed in Valpoi and its surrounding areas in the field of sports, culture and health besides several other diverse fields.

Mr. Rane, while delivering his key-note address, stressed the need to impart good 'sanskars' among children coupled with a well cultured society to make India a powerful nation of the world. The major thrust should be on education and health sectors for the growth & development and a prosperous society, he said.
