All India sports festival at BITS Pilani from Sept 15-19
Pilani: BITS Open Sports Meet (BOSM), the annual sports meet of the Birla Institute of Technology an Science (BITS) - Pilani, will be held from September 15-19, 2010.

BOSM, in its 25th edition this year, will host a wide range of games and sports events including Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bodybuilding, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Powerlifting, Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Squash etc.

In addition, there is going to be a Cyber Game Festival called Ignition this year wherein gaming will be done on computers.

Following the main event, the organizers will hold a one day sports event for village schools of Pilani in order to give a boost to sports in schools of the village.

The five-day sports festival will see participation by over 1400 sportspersons and athletes from 60 different colleges of the country. Besides, a college from Sri Lanka will also be participating in the festival this year.

BOSM began as an annual sports event in 1986. Organizers of the festival are making efforts to rope in some of the best sportsmen as guests at the mega-event.

There has been overwhelming response to this year's BOSM, according to the event organizers. "Over the years, BOSM has established its name as one of the biggest and most esteemed college festivals of India with participation from all over the country. With over 1400 sportspersons from 60 colleges participating in a variety of events, I am sure this year's BOSM is going to be of great interest to both sports lovers and media persons" said the Sports Secretary Vishal Agrawal.

This year's BOSM will be sponsored by various business houses. While Nokia will be the Platinum Sponsor, other major sponsors include the Steel Authority of India, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and ICICI Bank. Food sponsors for the event are Domino's Pizza and Cafe Coffee Day and garment sponsors are Adidas and Reebok.
