New Delhi: A two-day workshop-cum-symposium was organized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in collaboration with Microwave Applications Society of India (MASI) on the topic - 'Electromagnetic fields: Bio-interactions, applications and mobile computing electromagnetic computing electromagnetic pollution'.
The venue for the workshop was the School of Environmental Sciences, JNU. The workshop discussed various issues relating to microwaves and Electromagnetic field radiations.
It was stated that, Electric and Magnetic Field have always remained a part of our environment. But it was said that, the Microwaves at 2.45 GHz and mobile radiation at 900 MHz are a source of pollution globally. The workshop also pointed out that Electromagnetic field radiation effects in living beings. Its safety criteria should be understood and implemented.
The other topics covered in the workshop were, Radiofrequency Measurement Techniques, Electromagnetic Fields and Environment, Radiation hazards and safety Standards, Shields from Electromagnetic fields, etc.
The varsity also organized a two-day symposium in Chemistry on 'Modern Trends in Chemistry: Molecules to Materials' at School of Physics Sciences, JNU where eminent personalities such as Ashok K. Ganguli, Subhasis Ghosh and Sobhan Sen delivered lectures. The workshop ended on Saturday.
