Sibal ready to debate on proposed educational reforms

July 06, 2009

New Delhi: Kapil Sibal, Union HRD Minister has said that he has no objection to hold a debate on all measures proposed by him in his 100 days agenda to reform educational system.

"Being a democratic system, some of them can be dropped or altered, if it is not in favour," said Sibal.

If I do not get consensus about all these proposed reforms, I will not go ahead with it, but I think all these proposed reforms are in favour of the country, added Sibal.

Right to Education Bill is one of the important proposals of his 100 days agenda.

I am ready to hold an open discussion on dealing with madarsas and about making the class X examination optional.

"We have put the issue in public domain and various forums have already started discussion on these issues," added Sibal.
