| NCERT to organize Children's Educational Audio-Video Festival from March 4 January 13, 2009 New Delhi: The 14th edition of the All India Children's Educational Audio-Video Festival will be organized by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The festival will be organized at the NCERT headquarter in New Delhi from March 4, 2009. The festival is aimed at exhibiting the best educational audio and video programmes produced for children and teachers. Besides showcasing and appreciating films made by children for children, the event will provide a platform to exchange creative ideas between audio and video producers, researchers, writers, camerapersons, editors, other technical persons and educationists. Cash prizes will be given in various categories, including the best audio and video programmes produced by students. "As a part of the festival, special screening of films will be organised at different schools during February," said an NCERT official. The audio and video programmes produced during December 2008 and January 2009 are eligible for entry which should reach the Festival Director latest by January 15 in CD/DVD format. Students will be exempted from the entry fee of Rs.200. Festival rules, entry and delegation form, and other information are available in detail on www.ncert.nic.in "In the student category, children studying in any class up to Class XII are eligible to take part in the competition. The duration of the audio and video entries targeting various categories is 15 minutes for pre-primary, primary and upper primary level, up to 25 minutes for secondary and senior secondary, and up to 30 minutes for programmes targeting teachers," added NCERT official. |
