New Delhi: In a bid to resolve the ongoing chaos in the Delhi Technological University (DTU) a meeting of the student delegation of the agitating students took place with the university's Vice Chancellor P.B. Sharma and the Principal Secretary and later with the Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs. Sheila Dikhshit in connection with the ongoing agitation.
A dialogue took place among them in which various clarification issues on the upgradation of Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) to DTU were discussed.
It was then further resolved in a joint statement signed by the agitating students and the university authorities that, "In the larger interest of the student community the mid-semester exams of the B.E./ B.Tech. courses of DTU will be rescheduled to take place from March 29, 2010 and the campus will now resume its normal academic activities."
"The students who have appeared in the examination on March 15 and 16 will also have an opportunity to appear in the rescheduled examination," said the DTU officials.
It is also informed that a meeting of Board of Management (BOM) of DTU has been called on Friday, March 19, 2010, which will give a hearing to the protesting students and try to redress their genuine grievances. |
