New Delhi: In a bid to spread positive energy and enthusiasm among school children in the capital, a campaign titled "Shera Mera Dost: Commonwealth in Education Programme" was launched by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit along with Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi.
The campaign was launched at a special function held at Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri on Friday by the Delhi government's Department of Art and Culture and the Organizing Committee of the school.
Conceptualized by the principals of various schools in New Delhi, the programme has been organized to encourage Delhi students to be optimistic and energetic about the grand success of the Games.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit spoke at the occasion and said that the success of the games would not be complete without the active involvement of young men and women as well as schools students.
"The Shera Mera Dost campaign has been organized by the government in order to prepare and educate Delhi school students regarding the Commonwealth Games and to explain to them about their responsibilities so that an atmosphere that is conducive to the success of the international sporting event can be created," she said.
