American Center donates books to Jamia
New Delhi: The American Center here on Monday donated some of its best collection of American literature and history to the Jamia Milia university, terming it a small gesture of the "deeper ties" between the two.

Michael P. Pelletier, minister-counsellor for public affairs at the American Center, said, "This is a small part of our deep ties with Jamia. These books are on literature as well as political write ups."

The 200 books that were donated will be included in the section of American writings in the new building of the Dr. Zakir Husain Library of the varsity.

According to a spokesperson, Najeeb Jung, vice chancellor of the varsity, urged Pelletier to help more Jamia students get admission in various American universities.

"They also spoke about helping the university's students to avail fellowships to get into American universities," the spokesperson said. IANS
