UPSC announces Engineering Services Exam 2009 result
New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Engineering Services Examination, 2009.

The examination for these services was held in June 2009 and the interviews for Personality Test held in February - March 2009.

A total of 469 candidates have been recommended for the appointment.

Of these, 205 candidates are in Civil Engineering Group,130 in Mechanical Engineering Group, 59 in Electrical Engineering Group and 75 are in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Group. They include 202 General, 144 Other Backward Classes, 78 Scheduled Castes and 45 Scheduled Tribes (including 10 candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category) candidates.

Appointments will be made according to the number of vacancies available and keeping in view the amended Rules and with due consideration to the provisions contained in Rule 5(b) and 16 of the rules for the examination relating to restrictions on the eligibility of candidates admitted to the examination under age concession and allotment of candidates to various services according to ranks obtained and preference of services expressed by them.

The number of vacancies reported by the government for Group 'A' posts to be filled in for Civil Engineering Group is 237 (121 General, 64 Other Backward Classes, 33 Scheduled Castes, 19 Scheduled Tribes & these include 05 vacancies for PH-1 candidate); for Mechanical Engineering Group is 150 (75 General, 41 Other Backward Classes; 23 Scheduled Castes and 11 Scheduled Tribes and these include 02 vacancies for PH-1 & 01 for PH-3 candidates); for Electrical Engineering Group is 72(36 General, 19 Other Backward Classes, 09 Scheduled Castes and 08 Scheduled Tribes ; for Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Group is 79 (39 General, 20 Other Backward Classes, 13 Scheduled Castes, 07 Scheduled Tribe and these include 02 vacancies for PH-1 candidate).

In accordance with Rule 13 (iv) and (v) of the Engineering Services Examination Rules 2009, the Commission is maintaining a consolidated Reserve List of candidates for each group as under:

(i) Civil Engineering Group: 64 candidates, which include 32 General, 28 Other Backward Classes, 02 Scheduled Castes & 02 Scheduled Tribes candidates.

(ii) Mechanical Engineering Group: 40 candidates, which include 20 General,18 Other Backward Classes , 01 Scheduled Castes and 01 Scheduled Tribes candidates.

(iii) Electrical Engineering Group: 26 candidates, which include 13 General, 11 Other Backward Classes & 02 Scheduled Tribes candidates

(iv) Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Group: 08 candidates, which include 04 General & 04 Other Backward Classes candidates.

Candidates may obtain any information/ clarification regarding their Examination/ recruitments at the UPSC 'Facilitation Counter' during working hours in person or over Telephone Nos.23385271 and 23381125.

The marks sheet would be available on the UPSC website after ten days from the date of publication of results for a period of thirty days.
