New Delhi: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) is inviting applications for the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan-2011 (UK).

Candidates interested in the scholarship or fellowship can either apply online or submit an application written on plain paper in the format given on the website - www.education.nic.in. The chosen candidates will be awarded the Commonwealth Scholarships in the United Kingdom tenable from October 2011 for higher studies / research / specialized training in various subjects.

Up to sixty nominations are to be sent to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission for final selection to be made by them. Out of these not more than twenty five are for doctoral studies, including via the split-site mode, reflecting operational quotas for awards.

The eligibility criteria for candidates includes, among other criterion, completion of tertiary education in English Medium.

Desirous candidates can send their applications for the above scholarships in the prescribed format to the Department of Higher Education office by September 25, 2010.
