Bihar supports HRD minister's proposal to reform education

June 27, 2009

Patna: The 100 days plan announced by the Union Minister of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Kapil Sibal to reform education system in the country has been appreciated by the Bihar Government.

"The central government should develop a consensus on the issue while taking into confidence the State Governments", said Harinarain Singh, Bihar HRD Minister.

"Without having consensus about the issue, it will be difficult to implement the proposal in order to bring radical changes in education system," he said.

"There is a need to call a meeting of state education ministers to know their views and explore ways to build a consensus on the controversial issue," added Singh.

"We will later formulate our response on the issue after a thorough study of the proposal," further said the HRD Minister.
