| Bihar might allow other state doctors a PG seat March 18, 2010 Patna: The State Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav announced on Wednesday that soon doctors having an MBBS degree from institutions outside Bihar would be eligible to appear in competitive exams for admission in post graduate course at government run medical colleges in the state. He informed that, "All the legal formalities necessary for such an initiative have been completed." With setting up of more private medical institutions in the state, the number of medical seats in these institutions have been going up, which is why, the sources said that, "Many PG seats in the medical colleges remain vacant." Yadav said that, "As per the directions of the Supreme Court we had to bar students having MBBS degree outside Bihar but recently the Maharashtra government has amended its provisions and now allows doctors from other states to get admission in PG courses. We also now mull to tread on the same path." |
