Assam HSLC, HSSLC exams begin today

Guwahati: The Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination, High Madrassa and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations - 2008 are commencing from today.

A total of 1, 65,726 candidates are appearing in the HSSLC examination at 618 centres and venues.

The break-up of the candidates is 1, 39,320 (Arts), 15,315 (Science), 10,568 (Commerce) and 523 (Vocational).

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Education Minister Ripun Bora and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council Employees Union have conveyed their best wishes to all candidates appearing for the exams.
