The SPSS 16.0 Software Training is intended to instill confidence in the use of statistics and interpretation of data.

An official release from the varsity said, "The objective of the three-day training program is to impart data analytical capabilities to the faculty, project leaders, business analysts, research scholars, and post graduate students, who want to enhance the quality of their work by using statistics for research. This will also enable to guide/lead research projects."

The programme was repeated 7 times during 2007-08 and the employees of organizations like ICMR, Infosys, Satyam, Answer Think, medical colleges, market research companies and University departments from India participated in the programme.
